On the evening of 9th August 2022, authorities and officials confirmed that Shahbaz Gill, a well-known leader of PTI and currently working as the Chief of Staff got arrested by unknown people.
According to the officials of PTI, it is stated that he is currently kidnapped from the Bani Gala Chowrangi and shifted to an unknown place. Whereas the Government of Pakistan says that he is arrested by the Federal Police and shifted to an unknown destination.
Reason for Arresting Shahbaz Gill:
After the recent reelection in Punjab, Pakistan came in the favor of PTI after the involvement of the court. Due to this factor, PTI is facing quite a tough time from the Government of Pakistan which is not ready to accept their existence as the winning party in Punjab.
If we talk about the previous history of the Punjab reelection so it is considered the hub of PML(N) but currently the election stats showed something else. Here PML(N) and other ruling parties are unable to accept their defeat.
Well, coming back to the Shahbaz Gill arrest, the government has accepted that he is arrested for spreading a misleading campaign in the country among people about the noble institutions.
Still, the government is unable to provide evidence for this claim and making every possible that will help in canceling the Jalsa in Lahore of Imran Khan.
Steps were taken by Punjab Government:
Till now according to the updates from different media agencies Punjab government has sent Punjab Police to Bani Gala to make sure that PTI leader Imran Khan is saved.
Keep this thing in mind that Imran Khan has already received several murder threats previously as well and never cared about his security. As Shahbaz Gill is kidnapped or arrested from Bani Gala Chowrangi near Bani Gala higher officials need to make sure that the PTI leader is safe.
If anything happens to the PTI leaders there is a chance of a law and order situation as PTI got a vast number of youth supporters who can take the law and order into their hands.
Charges on Shahbaz Gill:
Interior Minister of Pakistan Sanaullah, in a press conference on Tuesday, 9th August 2022, confirms the arrest of Shahbaz Gill. In this, he added that he will be presented in front of the court tomorrow on different charges. An FIR has already been launched against him and registered on the behalf of the Government of Pakistan.
Moreover, Sanaullah claimed that these cases are registered under the complaint of Magistrate Ghulam Murtuza Chandio under section 34 also known as the common intention, under section 109 also called abetment, 120 defined as the concealing design to commit an offense punishable with imprisonment and the list goes on.
Sanaullah claimed that Shahbaz Gill was arrested upon the statement made by Imran Khan related to the division in the military. So far no purposeful or satisfactory reason came out from both sides that can help in the disappearance of Shahbaz Gill without any warrant.
